The movie takes place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight . Bruce Wayne has become a recluse, still grieving the loss of Rachel Dawes. However, his peaceful life is disrupted when Bane, a masked terrorist, emerges with a plan to destroy Gotham City. Bane is a formidable foe, with enhanced physical abilities and a genius-level intellect. As Bane wreaks havoc on Gotham, Bruce must don the cape and cowl once again to stop him.
