The movie follows Dr. John Dolittle (played by Eddie Murphy), a veterinarian who can talk to animals. In this installment, Dr. Dolittle's daughter Maya (played by Kyra Sedgwick) is getting married, and Dr. Dolittle is excited to meet his future son-in-law. However, things get complicated when Dr. Dolittle discovers that his son-in-law-to-be doesn't believe in animal communication, which leads to a series of hilarious events.
