The second season of Falling Skies premiered on September 13, 2012, and consisted of 24 episodes. The season takes place six months after the events of the first season and explores the survivors' efforts to establish a resistance against the aliens. The season introduces new characters, including the "Esphahn", a sympathetic alien who becomes an ally to the humans.
