The film begins with a prologue that shows a young couple, Kathy (Shanley Caswell) and Vick (Joey King), experiencing terrifying supernatural events in their farmhouse. The couple is eventually helped by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who perform an exorcism to rid the house of the malevolent spirit.
